Now we all remember last year during Hot 97’s Summer Jam where Hot 97’s DJ Peter Rosenberg dissed “Starships” by Nicki Minaj. Quiet as it’s kept we all knew he was taking a dig at Nicki Minaj here is what he said “I know there are some chicks in here waiting to sing along with ‘Starships’ later,” he said to the crowd of people. “I’m not talking to y’all now. F— that bulls—. I’m here to talk about real hip-hop s—.” The remarks caused Nicki to pull out of her appearance at Summer Jam which of course some people were not proud about where she was scheduled to be the main event. So what was the next move for the Young Money team after that? LIL WAYNE WENT AHEAD AND PULLED ALL OF YOUNG MONEY OUT!!! On Monday of this week May 27th to be specific Nicki went back to the Hot 97 radio station and somewhat attempted to address the feud with Rosenberg himself. Here is what she said “It’s water under the bridge … I mean it’s so long ago. I can’t even act like I care anymore, but I appreciate you guys having me,” Minaj in an appearance ahead of this year’s Summer Jam. “In hindsight … I should’ve just did the show.” Even though Ms. Minaj has some regrets about pulling out for Summer Jam 2012, it did seem that Nicki was not completely settled her little feud with Rosenberg. “I never found you funny,”Nicki said to Rosenberg. “I never found you entertaining. I never found you smart. I just found you annoying. To me, you don’t have enough of a resume to make those comments.” Rosenberg gets some credit he did try to bury the hatchet speaking on how “Startships” played at his wedding and saying that he thought she could become the “greatest female MC.” Nicki just hit him with that good o’l….SILENCE!!! The feud did get hotter last year reason being Nicki called in Funkmaster Flex’s radio station to explain why she pulled out just so she could verify some things. Rosenberg came back saying “I need it be clear: I gave an opinion on a song,” the Hot 97 DJ said. “And Nicki Minaj and [her label] Young Money decided to skip Summer Jam. Because of an opinion, not a personal attack, nothing derogatory because she’s a woman.” “That’s why music is so mediocre nowadays, because no one can give opinions. If you give an opinion, cats hate you, their crew skips your concert, they dis you on twitter, their boyfriends threaten to punch you in the face,” Rosenberg said. referencing Nicki’s boyfriend, Safaree “SB” Samuels, who tweeted a profanity-laden threat.  (Source: inquisitr.com)

Now to me let it be water under the bridge it might as well be if not just let it go. IT WAS LAST YEAR!!! It obviously didn’t stop Nicki from becoming a bigger star this she is now. Rosenberg knew he was somewhat wrong and he kind of admitted it. To me he needs to apologize if he wants it over and done with. Nicki just needs to keep it moving even though she may not want to. He is a DJ you are an artist no need to go back and forth with him your music and features will still be played. Am I wrong?

I SPOKE ON IT!!!

So from this list I see that the BET 2013 Awards took a good bit of care of the rapper Drake by nominating him multiple times. The rapper of the hit “HYFR” leads with a whopping 12 nominations including four for Best Collaboration, five for Video of the Year, and one for Best Male Hip Hop Artist which  he is lined up with 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and A$AP Rocky. Even though nothing will be handed out till the 30th of June from what I see things are getting good. Chris Brown only got one nomination for Best Male R&B Artist but on the bright side he is a scheduled performer along with R. Kelly. Rihanna grabbed three nominations Best Female R&B Artist, Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award, and Video of the Year, two of them are for her big hit “Diamonds”.  Not to far from Drake Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz have eight nominations right behind them is A$AP Rocky with five and Justin Timberlake with four with Jay-Z and Miguel. Sadly Frank Ocean came up empty even though he was a tad bit dissed for his Grammy performance of “Forrest Gump”.  With the music nomination’s there are movie nominations such as Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Samuel L.
