Wendy Williams You Know Enough To Not Try HBCUs! But you tried it…

Uncategorized

Most of you know who Wendy Williams is correct? If not I will give you some background Wendy Williams in simple terms is a radio personality who now has her own television show. Who is known for her trash talking and getting the facts out of folks which is her job if I must say. Simple right? Right, well her trash talking has gotten her in trouble like it always has but this time with the wrong group of people. Historical Black College/University students also known as HBCU students is the group that has been firing Wendy up. Maybe not fire…the hot chicken grease for fried chicken Wednesday is what they are dipping her into. Only my HBCU students would know what I am talking about. I digress. As she was speaking about the powerful Jeese Williams speech on the BET Awards…well I will let you read her statement yourself:

“I must say to you, he was on BET. His speech was very poignant,” Wendy says on her show this week. “On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically Black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP.”

After her statement she then says “racism sucks” maybe that was her way of trying to make things up but I was already fed up at that point.

  • For someone who is going into the same field that she is already in she probably said that to further herself and the show into the press. Think about it if folks talk about you…you are relevant!

  • For someone who currently attends an HBCU (going into my junior year) and knows their history HBCUs were founded during a time where African Americans (Black) could not go to college (my school was founded in 1869) so we decided to make our own. Caucasians (White) did not have to worry about that during that time but we still gave their schools an acronym which is PWI which stands for predominately white institution. HBCUs are not meant for only African American students not at all we accept all walks of life that is just a stereotype that we have since we have majority of African American students and professors at some schools. Majority of the time any other race will receive a minority scholarship for attending an HBCU! Of all things Wendy didn’t attend an HBCU she went to Northeastern University. Don’t speak on anything if you do not have any knowledge of it! Plus, I am a memeber of the NAACP so you telling me that the organization that I am a member of offends people? Ok. Caucasians have more than enough organizations to help them.

  • For someone who actually enjoys Wendy Williams and what she does for entertainment it is almost disheartening for her to try to get in on something that is very controversial in this day in age. Not saying she cannot speak on issues but know what you are saying before you say the wrong thing. Some are comparing her to Stacy Dash who has pretty much been deemed “whitewashed.”

Now a person who I have always looked up to that gathered Wendy all the way together has to be Roland Martin here is what he had to say:

Everything he said is so true because it simply felt as if she did not educate herself enough.

Drake Has Released The Video for “HotLine Bling” (I Dig It)

Uncategorized

On the night of October 19th, 2015 Drake released the visual for the #2 song in the country “HotLine Bling”. Aside from the amazing women and the slight caribbean dancing at the end the video is something serious. Wasn’t too much going on like I thought there was going to be. All he had was some colorful lighting and a pretty much a box he was in and called it a video. Overall I give the video 9.5 distracting Drake hand motions out of 10. Now…I do enjoy Drake’s music but to me he is another Kanye when it comes to dancing like they try to dance and they feel the music but it doesn’t show just the way it should. I digress he can do that he has the money and the power I am just a little o’l blogger trying to get his 4-year degree. Here is the video (Click on the GIF):

Now, for my sneaker heads who are wondering where you can cop those Nike ACG Manoa Drizzy Drake had on they can be found on Foot Locker’s website. In my oh so cool technical savy way I have attached the link to the picture and it will take you right to the page to purchase them. I just might cop a pair these are in my budget.

My Top 5 Fall Jackets/Coats (No Special Order)

Uncategorized

You have to interpret what’s hot to make it work on yourself. If tweed suits are in, but you’re not a suit kind of girl, wear the jacket with jeans and a pair of Converses. – Rachel Zoe

Now since it is getting a little cold all of us need a good jacket/coat. So maybe my list can either help you get an idea for a jacket or have you buy one of these nice pieces of clothing to keep that body of yours warm. Oh to make it easier to find I have the links attached to the photos when you click on them:

Let me start simple….a denim jacket from your local Forever 21. A denim jacket in the fall is a jacket that you cannot go wrong with it. Even though some people do. Oddly, this jacket can go with many things from a dinner with friends at a local upscale restaurant with a white long sleeve collared shirt, wide brim hat, and a pair of burgundy chinos. On the other side it can go with your favorite pair of Adidas with a pair of joggers with a long sleeve Stussy sweater with a basic snapback.

Next, is one of my favorites but is a little bit too expensive for my taste but I will have it within my dormitory closet one day but not soon. You can find this jacket online on the Supreme website. I think this jacket can be worn but you have to wait till it is pretty cold but it can worn with anything almost like the denim jacket it can go from classy to urban but stay more on the urban side with this jacket. Just this jacket is more of a head turner if worn make sure that people around you know that this fur is fake. Just in case PETA is around with their red paint/blood and then you are out of $348.

Well…well….we meet again wool blend this time you are not what I expected. For the longest I was not a fan of wool blend jackets just because of how itchy they can be. Now, I’ll take the itchiness for what it is and buy this coat because it is something that I will only wear to those high priced banquets at my accredited university. This jacket to me is strictly for those high class moments in life but you can go against the grain and wear this with a pair of your favorite jordans with a pair of ripped jeans and a basic white t-shirt and wear a fitted of your favorite basketball team.

Now this jacket I have tried on personally and I love it as you see in the gif. Reason being I am going through 8JWE1ithis strange time in my life where I am obsessed with any piece of clothing that is longer than my torso. Quite awkwardly I wore this jacket with shorts bought from DeadHeart NYC and it actually looked somewhat good so this jacket can be worn with short but only the right pair. This long bomber jacket to me can be worn with plenty outfits but it all depends on what color you buy. I prefer the olive green due to the fact that it is always good to have on a warm color during the fall with any outfit.

Now for my favorite jacket that I have been wanting so bad but I just cannot afford it just yet. It is the Vfiles (favorite online store) Sports Plus puffer jacket. Simply put this jacket will turn heads and break necks. This is the type of jacket you step out in and have no regrets about it no matter what the outfit is. From wearing Nike slides to those Rihanna Puma Creepers that I have been wanting so bad but they do not have size this jacket is a conversation piece.

Yeezus Tour Kickoff

Uncategorized

(Source: AllHipHopFiles)

Hey guys, my name is Basile Shingu and starting today I’ll be making post for my bro Travis blog. I’m honored that he gave me the opportunity to do something as awesome as this.

One of my biggest inspirations and my favorite artist Kanye West kicks off Yeezus tour last night. I’m super pumped for this day to come, unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the show since Ye’ is coming to my city (Charlotte, NC). The tour kicks begins in Seattle. This Kanye’s first tour in 5 years and it will feature Kendrick Lamar and other special guest. If you are going to show and wondering if there will be any merchandise, don’t worry, Kanye’s barber Ibn Jasper and creative assistant Virgil Abloh posted pictures on Instagram of some the merch. If you want to see it go check out their Instagram @ibnjasper @virgilabloh. There are a lot of merch that I think fans would love to have their hands. I was hoping for Kanye to make a tee of the Yeezus tour cover art that’s on his website. This is a tour no one wants to miss out on, Kanye never disappoints when it comes to killing the stage. Yeezy season is approaching.

A$AP Rocky Finally Speaks On K-Dot’s “Control” Verse

Uncategorized

If any rapper can keep it all the way real it’s A$AP Rocky. While in the Hot 97 studio with the only and only Funkmaster Flex where he was making an attempt to prompt his fellow group member of the A$AP Mob A$AP Ferg new album Trap Lord that dropped today August 20th. Of course Flex had to ask about the verse cause Rocky was mentioned on the verse to get his opinion. You can tell A$AP Rocky is a good friend to have cause he praised Kendrick Lamar for pushing hip-hop in a new way. Even though he did shoot down his crowning of the “King of NY”. By saying “I feel like that King Of New York shit…you smoking crack…you crazy.” To me K-Dot was giving praise to the rappers that were mentioned he pretty much said y’all are my competition and he’s out to get y’all. I want to hear verses by people who were actually mentioned. If you were not mentioned why do you feel the need to make a verse even if you’re from New York? KENDRICK LAMAR KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING!!! IT’S OBVIOUS!!! IT’S BEEN TIME TO STIR UP THE RAP GAME A BIT!!! (Source: GlobalGrind)

Big Sean’s New Album Hall of Fame

So at first it was Big Sean’s song still is legally. It just all of the news surrounding this song is over Kendrick Lamar’s verse. He went in on a good bit of mainstream rappers within this song. You just have to listen to it but here is the verse that did it in for him.I just feel bad for Big Sean like for this to be his song no one really cares what he was talking about.  Do you think it was a bad idea to put Kendrick on the track?

Here are some rappers responses on Twitter:

Joey Bada$$: “How can yall think I’m hating on Kendrick right now? Much respect to him for bodying everybody. This day marks a new rap game kno dat. Haha”

Mac Miller (Named in the song): “If I can’t do no more nouns or verbs ima start comin with the wildest adjective bars that anyone has ever heard.”

Pusha T(Named in the song): “I hear u loud and clear my nigga… @kendricklamar

Big Sean(Named in the song): @kendricklamar so mad on that song, ha ha… Sheesh @JayElectronica on there like a scientist! Thanks u rappin ass niggas”

Diddy: “KENDRICK!!!!! Ohhhh Shiiitttttt @RevoltTV

Joe Budden: “A Cali nigga just said he’s the King of NY & u niggas so fucking worried about your relationships, y’all make me sick.” “All u rappers tweeting….…… hope y’all got bars….. Smh” “@kendricklamar u my nigga 4 life bro…. But u gon learn today.”

Fabolous: “RT @rellyOnSMASH: yo @myfabolouslife u gon let a nigga from compton claim they the king of NY or nah? <~What is this nonsense u talk?”

Big K.R.I.T(Named in the song): “”This is Gladiator Shit”…Gotta give the people what they want .”

Trinidad James: “I don’t feel like @kendricklamar dissed anybody. He just has moved up to another level. Y’all late overly dedicated nigga! Bruh been fire!!!”

Consequence: “Kdot verse is only going 2 bother whack rappers..This is the Colosseum and we can be called to engage in warfare at any moment.”
